Polaroid 55 Instant Film Test - Homemade SINAR Handy 4x5 Camera

This test was done to test the coverage of the Mamiya-Sekor 50mm lens that mates with the Mamiya Press Series of Medium Format Rangefinder Cameras.  The acceptable image would have been properly focused at infinity and covered the entire film area.

Well, I still believe that the Mamiya-Sekor 50mm Lens will cover the 4x5 format, or at least 6x12.  In short, I think I had too many simultaneous tests going on.  However, it is always nice to see a Polaroid 55 exposure.

Somehow, I need to find infinity for this lens, and then create a dedicated adapter/lens cone.  Then, I can try employing shims between the elements.  A different shutter, one achieving an opening of 2.27 mm and smaller is also needed to achieve ƒ/22.  Also, in this aperture/speed range, a film that may be exposed for a longer time than Polaroid 55 (less reciprocity failure?) would be useful as well.

This lens board allows the mounting of lens shutters or barrel lenses to Toyo-View Field cameras, like the Toyo 45A series, including the 45A, 45AII, 45AX, and 45CF. There are a few monorail view cameras that use these boards as well, such as the Toyo-View 45CX 4x5 View camera. And if you are lucky enough to own the rare Toyo-View 23G 6x9 Monorail View Camera or the Toyo VX23D Digital Monorail View Camera, then this lens board will fit your camera as well.  Instead of having a predrilled hole for standard Copal, Prontor, or Compur shutters, this lens board is an undrilled blank, so that you can have your lens board bored to meet your custom application.  There is a pilot mark to indicate the lens boards true center.

Cambo SF-250 6x9 / 2x3 Polaroid Instant Film Holder for SC1, Ultima 23 23F

This is the highly sought after Polaroid Film Back that can be used on the Cambo 6x9 Medium Format cameras.  The Polaroid film holder allows the usage of Polaroid 3x4 pack film, like Polaroid 665 and 669.  The film holder may also use the Fuji compatible film FP-100B, FP-3000B, or FP-100C, the latter, still being in production.

I believe the Cambo 6x9 camera series began with the Cambo SC-1.  These medium format view cameras are identical to their 4x5 counterpart, the Cambo SC-2.  Most recently, Cambo released the Ultima 23 and 23SF View Cameras.  This film back was designed to be used with the Ultima series of cameras, however I had this as a spare for my vintage Cambo SC-1 6x9 View Camera

Though the body of the holder says "Passportrait," I am fairly certain that Cambo modified their existing inventory of Passportrait Camera backs to create this model.  I have never seen a Passportrait Camera that accepts the notched plate adapter board.  For the record, the notched plate adapter board is approximately 123mm square.  On Cambo 4x5 Cameras, the lens board and back adapter size is about 163mm.  So, this back will not fit a typical Cambo 4x5 standard.

This film back is in excellent condition.  There looks like there was a sticker on the leatherette, but that is the worse that I could find.

Cambo Passportrait - Model 20

The Cambo Passportrait series of cameras are used for identification pictures, such as passports. On a single sheet of Polaroid or Fuji 3x4 Instant Pack Film, two images of a single subject can be made. What is really cool is the fact that you can set which lens is open, so that you may take two different photos on a single sheet. Personally, I was going to have a try at Stereo Photography.

The Camera is in full working order, however one of the lenses has a hair in the rear element. I don't believe that it will show in photos, but I did not test this on film. Please see the image gallery where I have an image from the inside of the camera and one from the outside (last 4 images.) The Polaroid Film Back looks as though it has had almost no use. Again. please see the images.

Toyo 4x5 Field Camera Pro Compendium Lens Hood 180-623 ~NIB

This is another rare and hard to find item, especially in this condition, "New In Box."  This is the lens hood for the Toyo 45A, 45AII, 45AX, and 45CF 4x5 Field Cameras.  If you are lucky enough to have a Toyo View 23G, this is the hood for you.  I don't have a Toyo View 45CX in stock to check, but I believe that it will mate with this lens hood as well.

Included with the lens hood, is the instruction sheet as well as two gel filter holders for 3 inch and 4 inch gel filters.  These items are still sealed in plastic.

SINAR Norma Flat Lens Board Undrilled

Here is probably the best lens board ever made for a Large Format camera.  Not only are these light weight, but they are also easy to machine, allowing you to customize them as you like.  Whether you are trying to mount an APO-Nikkor lens, or designing a custom back or adapter, this is the board of choice.  Take a look at the rear of the board.  What do you see?  Absolutely nothing!  No ridges, no milling miracles, just nothing at all.  Actually, what is there, is a small pilot point for your machinist's edge finder.  This small indentation marks the center of the board.

This rare board weighs only 118 grams or 4.2 ounces.  That's lighter then the modern lens board with a Copal #3 hole.

This is an unused lens board, according to the camera store from which I purchased it.  Looking at the back, it appears to have been wiped and the box has been written upon to reflect the Copal #1 hole size.  I'm assuming that MAC bored the hole from a blank, undrilled  lens board. Toyo View Pro Compendium Lens Hood Extension Rods

If you shoot with a Toyo-View G Series Large Format Camera and have the Toyo Lens Hood (MPN# 180-626) that swings up and down, then these extension rods are for you.

The Extension Rods replace your existing rods, adding about 2-1/4 inches of lateral slide travel. The standard rod is about 1" or 25mm. These extension rods are about 3-1/4 inches or 82mm, not including the threads or portion that fits inside.  These are very useful when employing extended lens boards or long tele lenses.

Though the large image may exaggerate the wear, the rods are in excellent shape and have been tested.

I don't have a Wista M-450 to test this on, however based on my experience, I believe that this lens board is excellent and will serve you well. The Wista M-450 is a 4x5 monorail, large format, view camera. Per the spec, the lens board measures 153mm x 153mm.
