Schneider Super-Angulon 47mm f/8 Rear Lens Cap

"Watch your eyes!"

A few days ago, a professional photographer, and dear friend, asked that I perform an 'Image Circle' test with the Schneider Super-Angulon 47 mm f/8 lens.  Though the specification says otherwise, we were curious to find out if the this little gem could cover the 6x12 format.

Well after painfully removing the lens from a Graflex XL barrel, I came up with a setup using a Cambo SC3, traditional configuration.  Being that the lens is housed in a Compur #00 shutter, my options were limited, and my preferred Toyo-View 4x5 rig was of no use.

As for the IC test, I will save that result for another Post, but after playing with this lens and moving it to and fro, not having a rear lens cap became quite bothersome, to say the least.

Well this evening, after finding a Toyo-View 158 mm recessed #00 lens board, I decided to perform another test.
"Wait... no rear lens cap!"  I yelled to myself.

I immediately went out back to the Machine Shop (this what I call my Garage on Thursdays and Fridays) and searched for a 34 mm Forstner bit and a 40 mm hole saw.  Needless to say, not having these bits in my arsenal, I didn't find them, however I did find a beautiful Freud Diablo FB-010 Forstner bit coming in at 1-3/8 inches and an unknown big box hole saw bit measuring 1-3/4 inches.

And 30 minutes later....

"Look Ma, no lathe!"

The most difficult part is making the circumference piece of felt flush.  The bottom piece was actually easier to cut than I had anticipated, being that I took the Forstner bit to the material to etch the circle, hence the cardboard spot in the center of the fabric.

This one will, of course, only be a prototype, as the final product will be made from a solid piece of hardwood, and I won't use dirty sandpaper.

I hope that in this case tighter is better than loose.  I imagine that over time the fabric material will compress.  I just realized that I didn't glue in the fabric, but being that it was mathematically sized with precision, it seems to be holding quite well.

A capped lens is a happy lens!

Konica Hexanon GR II 260mm F9 Lens Mounting

I finally got around to mounting the Hexanon 260mm

Even though my drill press work hold down method failed, I am pleased with the results.

Thanks to the HF Transfer Punch Set, I was even able to achieve near perfectly aligned screw holes.

Most of the difficulty came from the fact that I was unable to remove the lens flange, so all of the markings, alignment and assembly had to be done with the entire lens assembly.  The deburring and finishing process too, was tedious, especially considering the fact that I have no particular insight into machine work.

Overall, I am pleased with the results of the 75mm hole saw, as well as the project in its entirety.

The next phase will be to mount the lens to a Sinar lens board.

Norelco Audio Cassette Jewel Case Pack of 10 branded Maxell

Norelco Cassette Jewel Cases

If you still have cassette tapes then take advantage of this pack of 10 plastic see-through Norelco style cassette jewel cases.

These are like new.  I obtained them from courtroom Electronic Recording Monitors.  These were discarded as they took up to much space for storage.

Essentially, the only usage that they have had was having the cassette removed.  Some do have slight scratches from hands, fingernails and some that were occasionally opened by letter openers.  For the most part, I have hand picked many of these to reduce the chance of you receiving scratched goods.

Feel free to email me for more info or pictures.  Also I have more of these available.

Shipping will be via USPS Priority Mail, Worldwide.

Horseman Rotary Back Model I For 6x9 Graflok

Horseman Rotary Back
Model I for 6x9 Graflok

The Horseman Rotary Back Model I was designed and intended for the Horseman 980, 985, VH and VH-R cameras.

The rotary back allows the attaching of various roll film holders, ground glass focusing screens, sheet film holders, the Horseman 6x9 Polaroid back, Horseman 4x5 backs, and just about any other device designed for a 6x9 Graflok.

I have used the Horseman Rotary Back Model 1 on my Cambo SC1 6x9 View Camera, allowing me to attach the 4x5 back, and thus the Polaroid 405 back.  Though this was a bit of work, it allowed me to shoot Polaroid type 100.

Although there is no Ground Glass Adapter included in this auction, I will provide the winner with simple information on how to make a pretty accurate ground glass adapter for a pretty low cost upon request.  The back is very useful without the ground glass even though for critical focusing you will definitely want one.  To use the Horseman Rotary Back Model I without ground glass, you focus by using your cameras native ground glass, then before attaching the rotary back, you simply move your lens backwards by exactly 25mm, as the Horseman Rotary Back adds 25mm to your focal length.

Note For Graphic users and Mamiya G-Adapter users: This may seem confusing, but for those using a Mamiya Press with a G-Adapter or a Graphic 2x3 camera, Horseman devices do not natively attach, even though devices that do attach to your G backs will fit a Horseman G back. Please make sure that you can use Horseman devices before bidding. I have read that you can loosen the screws in your sliders, but please try this solution first.

The winner of this auction must render payment within 12 hours of the auctions end. Though I ship daily, please allow the following day for me to ship should your payment be rendered after 2:00PM Pacific Time. The Horseman Rotary Back will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail, worldwide. First Class may be available for International shipments.

Thank you for looking and please, feel free to message me should you have any questions, comments, updates or suggestions.

Graflex Graphic View II 4x5 Monorail Large Format Camera Conical Bellows Tapered

Graflex Graphic II View Camera Bellows

The bellows appears to be light tight and awaits your next Graphic II repair or even a custom camera project.

I recently purchased this bellows for a custom project, but I would need to remove the frames, which would deplete the value of the bellows.

I would call the condition perfect, considering an item like this is obviously no longer produced.

Here are the approximate dimensions:
Maximum Extension: 15 in or 380mm
Minimum Extension: 2.75 in or 63mm
Large Frame Outer: 6 in or 150mm
Large Frame Inner: 5.25 in or 133mm
Small Frame Outer: 4.5 in or 115mm
Small Frame Inner: 3.25in or 83mm

Shipping will be provided by USPS Priority Mail for domestic shipping and First Class for International
Payment must be rendered within 12 hours of auction end.

Graflex Graphic View II Bellows
Polaroid 405 Instant Film Holder
For using Type 100 Instant Film on a 4x5 Large Format Graflok back

This is a genuine Polaroid 405 Instant Film Holder and is the only way to shoot instant film on a large format camera.

With it, you may use Fuji FP-100B, FP-3000B and FP-100C. Of course, your Polaroid pack films like 665, 664, 667, 669 or ID-UV will work with this film holder as well.

This holder is mandatory for all Large Format kits, that is, if you want to use instant film that is still being manufactured.
If you already have one, buy another for a spare or so you can shoot with two different types of film.

This back has been tested and is perfect working condition.  There are a few very minor marks from light usage.  There was tape residue on the leatherette, but I have done my best to remove all traces.

Shipping will be provided by USPS Priority, worldwide.  First Class is not available as the film holder will be shipped with Tracking and Insurance.

Payment shall be rendered via PayPal within 12 hours of the auction's end.

Please don't hesitate to message me should you have any questions or there is has been an error or omission on my part.

Kodak Tri-X pan Black-and-White Film

Kodak Tri-X pan Black-and-White 120 Negative Film
ISO 400, 120 Format Print/Negative Panchromatic Film 01/1997

This auction is for 2 single rolls of 120 film as described above.

Before there was "KODAK PROFESSIONAL TRI-X 400 Film," this was the fast black and white film of choice, especially for pushing and having a wide exposure latitude.

This fine Classic film has been refrigerated all of its life.  I haven't tried any yet, but this film should be fun as it has been priced accordingly. Due to the age and fast speed, there may be slight fogging, but if you shoot with that look in mind, you may just end up with a masterpiece.
This is a nice collectors item as well as the film is individually boxes as shown in the listing photo.

Graflex XL 1.5 inch Spacer for XL XLS XLSW and Brooks Veriwide Cat. No. 7323

Graflex XL Spacer 1.5 inch

Here is another rare Graflex XL item, that can be used on all of the XL series cameras and even on the Brooks Veriwide.

If you own the Graflex Polaroid Land Film Holder or the Brooks Mamiya 6x9 Roll Film Holder for use on the wide XLSW, then this spacer is very useful. Not only does it provide magnification for close up work, but it makes a convenient way to mount the mentioned film holders. So essentially, on an XLSW, this spacer adds .5 inches (1/2 inch) for all of the lenses other than the 47mm. With the 47mm lens, this is the spacer that can get you to 1:1 via the addition of the 1.5 inches.

If you are lucky enough to have a .5 inch spacer then adding this 1.5 inch spacer will get you to 2 inches. Of course, two 1 inch spacers will do the same. Note, that there was not a 2" spacer produced.

On the XLSW, using the 47mm lens the reproduction range will be 1.2:1 to 0.9:1

Below is the complete chart of object to image reproduction ratios obtainable with the 1.5 inch Spacer on the XLRF and XLS models:

Lens3.75" Spacer
58mm1.5:1 to 1.1:1
80mm2.1:1 to 1.5:1
95mm2.5:1 to 1.9:1
100mm2.6:1 to 1.9:1
150mm3.9:1 to 2.9:1
180mm4.7:1 to 3.5:1
270mm7.3:1 to 5.3:1

Also, instead of simply using the spacers for macro photography, complete custom "Set Top" cameras are easy to build with a view additional parts.

Shipping will be provided by USPS Priority, worldwide. First Class is not available as the spacer will be shipped with Tracking and Insurance.
Payment shall be rendered via PayPal within 12 hours of the auction's end.

Graflex XL 3.75 inch Spacer for XL XLS XLSW and Brooks Veriwide Cat. No. 7327

Graflex XL Spacer 3.75 inch

Here is another rare Graflex XL item, that can be used on all of the XL series cameras and even on the Brooks Veriwide.

If you own the 100mm lens for the Graflex XL, this spacer is all that you need to achieve 1:1 magnification, providing an object to image reproduction of 1.1:1 to 0.9:1

On the XLSW, using the 47mm lens the reproduction range will be 0.5:1 to 0.4:1. By adding the 1" Spacer, not included in this auction, you can acheve 1:1 reproduction with the 100mm lens.

Below is the complete chart of object to image reproduction ratios obtainable with the 3.75 inch Spacer:

Lens3.75" Spacer
58mm0.6:1 to 0.5:1
80mm0.8:1 to 0.7:1
95mm1.0:1 to 0.9:1
100mm1.1:1 to 0.9:1
150mm1.5:1 to 1.4:1
180mm1.9:1 to 1.7:1
270mm2.8:1 to 2.5:1

Also, instead of simply using the spacers for macro photography, complete custom "Set Top" cameras are easy to build with a view additional parts. Being the largest of the 5 Spacer Set, the 3.75 comes equiped with a 1/4"-20 tripod mount.

Shipping will be provided by USPS Priority, worldwide. First Class is not available as the spacer will be shipped with Tracking and Insurance.

Graflex XL Polaroid Land Film Holder Back for XL XLS XLSW and Brooks Veriwide

Graflex XL Polaroid Land Film Holder

This is the rare, must-have Polaroid Back that fits on the back of all of the Graflex XL Series Cameras and the Brooks Veriwide XL.

I purchased this one to have a spare and so I could shoot 2 different Polaroid films at the same time, however I now need to finance my latest acquisition, my first complete Sinar View Camera.

Before I go into the condition of this beauty, I would like to share my experience using one of these with my Graflex XLSW. The exposure functionality works the same as any Polaroid Type 100 film holder, however the attaching mechanics were a bit cumbersome for me when I first acquired my back.

This information only applies when using the 1" or greater spacers.
If you take a look at Images 2 through 6, this is the side of the holder that attaches to the camera. Please note how the attachment knobs are recessed into the holder, or the ends of the holder stick out towards the camera. This is so that the holder can be also be used as a grip to hold the Graflex XLSW or Brooks Veriwide cameras.
Because of this, when using the 1" Spacer, it is rather difficult to lock and unlock the sliders. I can just barely fit my smallest finger into the space between the Polaroid back and the spacer to reach the sliders. So switching back and forth between ground glass and Polaroid back is practically impossible, without nudging the camera, and at the least, is rather irritating.
The solution to this is incorporating two 1" spacers in your kit, one for the ground glass and one for the Polaroid back. A more elegant solution is to use two 1/2" spacers which have handles at the top of the spacer to move the sliders.
In short, stock up on all of the spacers that you can.

Though I never used this Polaroid back, the condition is the best that I have ever seen. The slightest problem is small chips on the corners of the darkslide. Please refer to the magnified view of Image 6. I have confirmed that this will have no impact on usage. The rollers are clean and without issue. A minimal light cleaning may be in order, but not required.

Fuji PA-145 Instant Film Holder: Shoot 3x4 Instant Film on your 4x5 Graflok back

FujiFilm PA-145 Instant Film Holder for
Fuji FP-100B, FP-100C, FP-3000B, Polaroid Type 100 like 665, 669

The Fuji PA-145 Film Holder is the Fuji version of the Polaroid 405 film holder, which allows for Type 100 Instant Film to be used in any camera that has a 4x5 Graflok.

Being the same fit as a standard 4x5 cut film holder, the Fuji PA-145 may be able to fit under the Ground Glass just as a film holder fits, however it is strongly suggested not to mount instant film holders in this manner being that you may damage your springs, due to the thickness of the instant film holder.  The International Graflok allows for sliders to slide into place to hold the back at the top and bottom edges.

The Fuji PA-145 Instant Film holder is essential for the 4x5 large format photographer wishing to use instant film, as 3x4 Type 100 film is the only Instant peel apart film currently in production, other than the Impossible Project 8x10 film.

This film holder is in perfect condition.  With original dark slide, that locks into place

Shipping will be provided by USPS Priority Mail.

Payments are due via Paypal within 12 hours of auction end.

Please feel free to ask any questions and thank you kindly for your consideration.

Sinar Copal Auto Aperture Shutter f5.6 for Sinar DB Mount Lenses

Sinar Auto Aperture Copal Shutter f/5.6

With the Sinar Auto Aperture shutter you can mount Sinar DB mount boards and have consistent speeds across al lenses, as well as enjoy discounted prices due to their lack of attached shutters.

I have tested that each speed is functioning and the the shutter blades close and open as expected.  The speeds sound consistent, though I have not professionally tested them.

There are NO CABLES INCLUDED with this shutter, however I performed the tests with my own cable.

The slightest issue worth mentioning is  when using the red button on the side for preview mode, sometimes the iris does not completely open and some assistance is required via the lever.  I wanted to post a picture of this, however, the shutter functioned properly each time I tried.  (camera shy I imagine :-)

Newton 4x5 New-Vue Lens Board, 51mm - Very Rare!

Newton New-Vue Lens Board 51mm

Newton New-Vue 51mm Lens Board

Considering the rarity of these lens boards, I have to say that this one is in good shape.

I am selling it only because, I need capital and having an empty lens board around means that I will have to purchase a lens to fill it.

This is an authentic Newton New-Vue lens board having a 51mm hole and has 4 orthogonal, threaded holes to attach a flange, typically used with barrel lenses.

The 4 threaded holes lie on a circle, 61mm in diameter.

The board weighs in at 3.2 ounces or 90 grams.

Just to share, the Newton Cameras were brilliantly engineered in Los Angeles, California circa 1948.

This item will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box, worldwide.

Upon winning an auction, payments are due within 12 hours of auction end.

Thanks for looking at this item as well as my other Photographic Goodies.

Polaroid 600SE Professional Rangefinder Front Body Cap

Having a front body cap for your Polaroid 600SE Professional Rangefinder camera makes travel and packing a much easier task.

So instead of using your expensive 75mm, 127mm, or long 150mm lens as a dust cap for your camera, use this cap that was intended for the job.

Also, this is the cap that is needed to turn your rangefinder into a pinhole camera. You can either drill a very small hole to be the aperture or drill a larger hole and attach a separate substrate as the aperture, like foil or tin.
Using the latter allows the usage of different sized apertures and zone plates to experiment with.

These are rare so use the BIN button today!

Payments must be rendered within 12 hours after the auction close.

Shipping will be provided by USPS First Class Mail for both domestic and international shipping.

Should you have any questions, then please feel free to message me.

Horseman Driving Aid for Horseman view camera Standards' Rise Control Knob --Rare--

Horseman Driving Aid 25681

The Horseman Driving Aid, Part Number 25681 is an overlooked but great accessory to have for the Horseman Family of view cameras.

The rubber ring slides onto the rise control knob of the standard giving you finer control of the movement.

The heavier the lens or rear attachments that you are using, the more you will appreciate the driving aid.

Though having two of these is convenient, a single ring can be used on both standards, as it can easily be removed from one standard and placed on the other.

No flaws are detected on this little gem.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Shipping will be provided via USPS First Class Mail for both domestic and International.

Payment is due within 12 hours of auction end.

Toyo-View 8x10 to 4x5 Reducing Back Adapter 180-825 (1830)

Toyo 8x10 to 4x5 Reducing Back Adapter 180-825 (1830)
This adapter allows the use of 4x5 accessories such as the Polaroid 550, Fuji PA-45, Polaroid 405, Polaroid 545, and Fuji PA-145 Instant Film holders, as well as a countless number of other 4x5 devices, on Toyo 8x10 cameras 810G, 810GII, 810M and 810MII.  Essentially any device that can attach to a Toyo 4x5 back, (which is not included in this auction - see note below) can be utilized.

This Auction
This adapter is practically new and has seen very little usage.  The item was attached to a Toyo 8x10G to verify compatability.

Note: The instant film backs previously mentioned were all tested with this adapter to confirm clearance when used with the 4x5 360° Revolving Back, Toyo #180-805.  Toyo-View states that "when used with the reducing adapters, the #180-820 will not provide the clearance for a Polaroid 545 4x5 holder."  This is referring to the Toyo 4x5 Vertical/Horizontal non Revolving Back

Payment & Shipping
Payment must be rendered by PayPal within 12 hours of auction end.  Shipping will be provided via USPS Priority Mail Domestic and International.  Please send a message for custom shipping options.  Please message if you should have any questions.

Arca-Swiss Model A 4x5 Monorail Film Camera

Impressive light weight and full movements!

Arca-Swiss Model A 4x5 Monorail View Camera

I believe this is the Model A, Classic Arca Swiss 4x5, as there is no pivoting at the base of the standards.

This Monorail View Camera is probably one of the lightest in weight of monorail view cameras featuring full movements, rise, shift, swing and tilt.

Functionally speaking, everything seems to work fine.

This Classic Photograph maker is ready to go, once you add your lens.

As a Collector's Trophy, I would consider the following repairs:

  • Find the silver inserts for a few of the knobs (This has no effect on usage)
  • Find a new star-knob as one has a broken vertex, but the functionality is fine.
  • Thoroughly inspect the bellows and consider repair. Though the bellows look practically new, I was able to detect a few very small pinholes. Also, not shown in the photos, there is foam stripping that could stand to be replaced. In the present condition, I believe that photographs can be made.
  • Foam on the Graflok back (Please note that the foam on the front and rear standards is nearly new and should not need replacing anytime soon.

Please View the Photos and ask as many questions as you would like.

The Fixed Shipping is a deposit and all excess will be refunded.

Thank you for looking.

Please check back regularly as I plan to make a few updates, should time allow.
